Well, i think those, who leaved through biggest years of hip-hop, having Dre, NWA, Eminem, Pac, Biggie, Nas, LL, Jay, 50 Cent, for us hip-Hop will never be the same, we will always compare every new artist to one of the biggest from the past. I do appreciate todays artists, like Slaughter, Kendrick, Asap, B.O.B, Ab-soul, Yella, Hopsin, Taylor the Creator, Elzhi, but they sound different from old school hip-hop, and ome of them sound a lil alike. Music changed in years.

Well, changes can be good. If we have always the same for like 20 years it would be boring. Hearing some new sounds, artists and cocepts makes a music genre more interesting. And we can still enjoy the good old times. A developement brings good artists like you mentioned but also very bad ones (e.g. lil wayne, nicki minaj, drake, tyga, rick ross.... ) but nobody threatens you to listen to them.

Music naturally changes over time. Otherwise it really would get boring. I just wish that the mainstream would have developed like the underground or non mainstream. The problem is that record labels want simple music that is catchy and easy to sell. They see what works and stick to it. That's why the mainstream is filled with rappers that all sound the same. Occasionaly someone takes a risk and signs something that sounds different and they either win or lose. The game changes to that. If you listen to indie hip hop it is much better because it isn't as boxed in. Right now I am listening to Deltron 3030. Imagine if mainstream hip hop had gone down that path! Fucking awesome.
