I gotta say:
1. MMLP - One of the greatest of all time.
A Classic.
I needn't say anything else.
2. SSLP - Got that unmatched Slim Shady vibe to it, which is what got
his name out there in the first place. The album that shocked
the hip-hop world.
3. Eminem Show - A really fun, likable album that introduced a new
side to Shady without abandoning his alter ego. A
great album, though doesn't entirely match the
lyricism of his previous two works.
4. Recovery - The proper comeback for this legend. People were
skeptical at first, judgements held by the last years not-so
climatic comeback. However, he got right "back on they asses
and [went] like Tyson on these bastards" (-You're Never
Over). A whole new Shady, but he still kept that
unparalleled lyricism.
5. Encore - Some say this is where he fell off. Indeed his delivery was
not as powerful on this album, but it still had those lyrics.
Beats themselves were mediocre, however he had a story to
tell, and he told it.
6. Infinite - Some of his best, most creative rhymes. But it sounded
more like a mixtape and didn't have the same qualities of his
later works, which is why it didn't put his name out there, on
the scene. But as a fan, you gotta love this, and one must
understand how he was still developing as this time.
7. Relapse - I personally enjoy this one, but it definitely did have its
weak points - one could say it dragged on and didn't have
much too offer. Still has some classic tracks on it, and the
rhymes such as those on Underground and We Made You, are
some of the best we've heard in while.
It was the comeback album we needed, but not the one we
deserved.
