joe budden's "no love lost" is expected to sell 30 - 35k first week without a single video and zero promotion whereas on the other hand yelawolf and slaughterhouse sold only 50 k first week even after being signed to the one of the biggest labels . do you think its an artist thing or a promotion thing?

It is because they are not 'typical' enough, they're not like artists who are played on Capital FM so everyone knows them. They will sell good in my opinion.

I think most consider Slaughterhouse as the best group right now. Yela is growing... But yeah, they are not so famous. Shady Recors hasn't a lot of money I guess

that's the problem with real rap it doesn't sell...  it's horrible.. look at ymcmb: tyga, lil wayne, nicki minaj or mmg.. these fags are come out with some dumb lyrics and catchy beats and what happens? they get commercial and they music sells like whatever... a shame but that's the truth... slaughterhouse and yelawolf are making real rap from the heart but people these days won't that type of rap ... |

I've only heard the single from Budden's album, the track with Wayne.
I feel like SlaughterHouse is promoted better than YelaWolf...
... and that D12 doesn't exist.

Eminem in person has nothing to do with promotion, but shady records coudve done alot better job with promotion their artists. (Thats how we lost Obie and Ca$ish)

First of all, Budden as an artist is not under Shady... The group is and Joell I think...
Anyway that's the result of recording for interscope and universal..
They need pop sounds to release an album but people need hip hop..
I mean I really wanted more from a shady/slaughterhouse album and they gave more of a pop sound..
That's why people said that the mixtape was better..
WAKE UP INTERSCOPE!

I'm not satisfied with the promotion SH and Yela got for their Shady debuts, and Shady Records better do something about it on their next albums.
